We’re all intimately connected by stories. Good stories, bad stories, true stories, myths and superstitions — they all have a magical power to lead us on a path to discover them and to discover ourselves in the process.
And that’s what „hai hui” is. It’s a Romanian expression that literally means to wander, to ramble around. It’s about the ride more than the conclusion, it’s about letting the story to unravel, meeting the people on the way, enjoying wherever the ride takes you.
We seek those stories or rather the stories seek us. Because we’re a tightly knit team of highly-motivated and passionate filmmakers who can take an idea from inception to release, or jump into any phase of the project.
We’re a collaborative team of Producers, Directors, and Film Crew, that have been brought together with one goal, tell a compelling story.
We’re a proudly independent film and television production company founded in the mystical year 2000. Think limited edition Coca-Cola collectible bottles, the solar eclipse, *NSYNC, Windows Millenium, VHS became „vintage”. And us.
Here are a few highlights so far:
We played a small part in co-producing the UK–Romanian film Katalin Varga, by Peter Strickland.
Set in a remote rural village in the Transylvanian mountains, Katalin Varga is cast out of her home in when her husband discovers that her son Orban is not his. Taking Orban with her, Katalin sets out on a long journey to track down and punish the men who raped her 11 years earlier.
Among the many accolades and nominations, our film went on to receive the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2009, and win the European Discovery of the Year award at the European Film Awards the same year.
We were also a part of co-producing the Israeli-German-French-Romanian film The Human Resources Manager by Eran Riklis, a tragi-comedy centered on the HR manager of Israel’s largest industrial bakery, who sets out to save the reputation of his business and prevent the publication of a defamatory article.
Far from home, on a mission to honor a woman he didn’t even know but has somehow grown to admire, the HR Manager rediscovers his own humanity and his ability to truly care for human resources.
The film won the Prix du Public UBS (Audience Award) at the Festival del Film Locarno in 2010.
